The scientific method is excellent within its domain, but try to turn it into a complete worldview and it proves itself woefully inadequate. The majority of life as it is lived doesn’t break down into systems of measurable inputs and outputs and attempts to make things fit that framework wind up absurd and contradictory. It leads to a kind of rationalish thinking that bears an aesthetic similarity to scientific reason but is really just a mishmash of biases and received beliefs from authority.
